In Cherry class we have been following instructions to make lanterns. Can you follow our instructions and make your own? We have begun to think about what makes a perfect set of instructions. Can you find the feature of instructions?

We have been cooking in our literacy lesson! I wonder if you can guess our new literacy topic?

Instructions of course!

Today we were seeing if we could follow oral instructions (when we hear them). We were all excellent listeners so found it fairly easy, although things got a bit sticky!

In literacy we have been writing atmospheric descriptions of a setting. As a class we decided that important features for this writing are using lots of interesting adjectives, powerful verbs, adverbs, similes and correct punctuation. See if you can spot how many Warsame has used in this piece of writing.

Welcome to year three!
We hope you had a wonderful holiday and are ready to have a great time in three cherry.

This half term we are going to be learning LOTS of new things. The most exciting new subject we are learning is SPANISH! This week we learnt how to greet people in Spanish. Why don;t you teach your families? In maths this week we are doing some number work, so learn your number facts please. In literacy we are learning how to create an atmospheric setting using language. You need to read lots to help you with this. See if you can spot any adverbs, powerful verbs and similes in your story books.

To do well at school, you really need to do your homework. We have spelling sentences and new spellings on a Monday, maths homework on a Tuesday and literacy homework on a Friday. No excuses please!

Last week we created some beautiful leave rubbings. Have a look at them below, they don't show up very well but if anyone would like to see them, pop into 3 Cherry.
